Alright guys, I am new around here, so here is the background story to my car

Currently I am in college and very broke, (not asking for sympathy, this is more to shed light on why I do the things I do to this car).

Its a long story of how I got my 240 it took me 2 years of fighting through shit and saving up to find finally find the right one and buy it and get it here, from New Jersey.

Image

Shortly after buying the car and throwing an LSD into it (Kaaz 2way) and a very nice set of Stance Coilovers along with a few other little bolt on parts.

Which brought it to looking like this

Just a nice and clean pearl white 240sx, nothing super special but up here in Michigan it was the cleanest S13 around... was....

I was primarily building up for drifting and I had a small drifting accident leaving the car disabled for about 6 months, I bent the frame, cracked the Rad, blew the rad support apart, it was bad.
Here are some pics of that..

Finally took it over to a body shop after juggling parts off on friends and other random people to get the money to fix it.

Which brought it to this point, here is a funny picture for everyone

yes I cleaned it up and actually painted the bumper now it looks like this

Jump forward 2 years, I am driving down the road and pop the living day lights out of my KA, massive rod knock, went from a small rod knock to a big rod knock across all rev ranges in about 5 minutes, oil pump I found out had just basically stopped working the gears inside it just were gone. Eventually after the fire in the engine bay simmered down and I got the car on a flat bed again I got it home. Which brings us closer to today.
Mind you the KA did have 220k on it, and I beat the tar out of that engine.

KA block

Ill have a better picture of that later, its basically a 4 inch by 3 inch hole in the side of the block just about rod literally came through the cylinder wall

So that brings us to my RB25, which oddly enough I got for really cheap
For engine, trans, ecu, intake (x2) manifolds, exhaust (x2) manifolds, turbo, 2 o2 dumps, with 2 02 sensors, valve covers, head, studs, head gasket, exhaust manifold gasket, throttle body (x2) pretty much everything minus a wiring harness and a maf from a standard swap, I got for $800 bucks,

The head on the motor was damaged, it had 2 broken and 6 bent valves from an improperly installed timing belt and it seemed the belt snapped or something caused the engine to stop immediately after the valves broke, probably it flooded or something I really dont know because my cylinder walls have absolutely 0 damage, there is 1 nick in the top of 1 piston from 2 broken valves rattling around.
The only other draw back was that it only has an RB20 Transmission.

here is some pictures of the engine and the haul that came with.

The garage has since gone into deep disarray from this point on.

So far for the swap I have aquired an Front mount intercooler
Pic coming soon
Koyo Radiator
Pic Coming soon
Top Hat mounts (I KNOW I KNOW everyone says they suck they were cheap)
Pics coming soon
GTR Transmission (needed for bell housing)
Pics coming soon.
Full gasket kit and everything to refresh the engine, it hasnt seen use in several years.
ISIS intake manifold

Q45 Throttle Body

Corbeau Racing seat,

New cylinder head, complete, Ill post up some pics of that after I clean it up,
Mint condition wiring harness from Japan.
Manual Boost controller

I have several other parts lying around I really cant remember all that I bought right now. but thats progress so far Ill post up pictures of the actual car as it sits now and some of the GHETTO FAB chassis strengthening that I did... its kinda.. well you'll see.

Hope you guys like.

Basically my goal is to do this whole RB swap for around what you would pay for a nice SR with a few little bolt ons, but instead have a regasketted RB with a few bolt on's

I know EXACTLY where you are project wise. I picked up my whole RB20 swap for $1500 and its super clean. I was other wise going to turbo my SOHC and rock out like that. But I just stumbled across a deal....

Have you come down to ohio for any drift events? Im hoping to hit up some a.spec events this year as I know the guy that runs them and I know a few other people in the area.

OHH and how do you like that exhaust? I want the same one. But I already have in invidia thats awesome but dual N1's FTW!

I love this exhaust, it was dirt cheap! I mean it was literally $239.98 shipped to my front door, made it here well alot faster than some of my RB parts have.

I want to start coming down to Ohio for events, but I am probably gona hold off till after I am out of college, constantly rebuilding this car during school is getting really annoying, I am looking forward to a winter where it goes in the garage running and comes back out of the garage running lol.

I crashed at an Aspec event ALONG time ago, the back part of the track actually, It was right after Drift Battle 4, I think it was Speed drift 9..? IDK I cant remember anymore October 06.

You from the Ohio region I am guessing then? Outbrake and all the like?

I am just over the border around Detroit,

-Steve

I like your project Steve. Will be doing the same RB25 to S13 swap in the next couple of weeks.

LONG NEEDED UPDATE!

Car runs, and drives, makes descent power, no real issues, until the BOV broke.

Have more info and pics later, I am also still going to be working on a wiring write up for wiring an S13 to an RB25.
